Areas of Focus: Vocal Healing
I offer sessions in the healing art of ‘vocal vitality’. This is an organic approach to improving your speaking and singing voice based on the principles behind naturalistic medicine (e.g., Ayurveda, and traditional Chinese medicine), and timeless shamanic techniques.
A session initially emphasizes breathing, toning, and getting comfortable with whole-body sounding. We then use vocalized visualizations (vocalization + visualization = manifestation) to help awaken your ‘Creation-body’, the living earth within each of us. An activated Creation-body inspires us with purpose, strength, and an authentic voice. Once that voice begins to reveal itself, I can offer a multicultural selection of mantras, chants, healing prayers, and songs of spirit to help give it form and direction. The ultimate goal is to apply this voice to setting new vibrational patterns that call in positive life changes. And to en-joy!
I also offer private Tai Chi Chuan lessons, and (relatively) regular group Creation-song circles in The Trillium Room at the Flanders House. For more information, please visit me at the web address above!

Areas of Focus: Deep Tissue . Swedish . Reflexology . Pregnancy. Energy Work. Reconnective Breathwork.
I have over 25 years experience in helping people feel better. No matter what part of your body needs attention your massage will be personally designed for you. I integrate stretching techniques into my work. People are particularly pleased after a massage that includes my special neck techniques. I only accept personal injury insurance claims with a referral from a doctor.
The Reconnective Breathwork that I do stimulates deep emotional release and chakra balancing. This breathwork provides an opportunity to go within and release blockages based on past experiences. I do this work at Flanders House only. Please call 503-238-1065 to schedule.

Areas of Focus: Counseling, Dance Movement Therapy
I am a counselor, dance movement therapist, and a college lecturer with an interest in the creative and somatic aspects of psychotherapy. I have over 14 years of experience and have an office at the Flanders House in NE Portland.
I specialize in working with individuals and couples, in helping to address anxiety, depression, relationship issues, marital problems, divorce, parenting skills and life-transitions, loss, and school/work related problems.
Often, unprocessed thoughts and feelings can take up residence in the physical body in the form of anxiety and depression, I offer guidance and support in improving the connection with your mind and body. I utilize various therapeutic techniques to assist individuals in moving forward with self-direction as well as accessing the underutilized and generative aspects of one’s personality.
Sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis.

Areas of Focus: Trauma. Sexuality. Spirituality. Individual. Couples. Group Counseling.
I offer mindful and somatic approaches to change, helping you overcome symptoms that may be thwarting your capacity to thrive. Find integration of mind and body to achieve optimal wellness, discover resources to reduce unnecessary pain, and explore your life from a place of aliveness and authenticity.
Mindfulness is a key component to how I work. Your (and my!) ability to be aware of the present moment without judgment can be a guiding force for healing, growth, change, and self acceptance. Accessing body awareness and movement in the process of healing also allows for fuller integration of insight.
I work from an interactive, integrative framework. The therapeutic relationship is pertinent to the healing process and choosing a therapist with whom you feel safe is imperative. For many this is the heart of their work: learning to be in contact and in relationship with one’s self and an other. I also coach couples who want to further explore their intimate, sensual, sexual, and spiritual potential. Couple’s coaching sessions are highly experiential; I offer tools to cultivate greater connection and authentic intimacy. I also assign weekly homework so the couple continues to cultivate their seed of a fulfilling relationship. I counsel all types and stages of relationship, and I am queer/trans/poly friendly!

Stacey Mairs, LMT
phone: 503-504-8425
email: staceymairslmt@gmail.com
Areas of Focus: Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release Techniques, Muscle Energy Technique, Pregnancy Massage, Cupping and Gua Sha
Stacey spends time listening to what her clients are experiencing and tailors each massage to their current goals for healing. When her clients are experiencing different types of pain or discomfort she examines the “big picture” by considering their work situations, repetitive strain injuries, postural problems, stress levels and emotional guarding. Stacey aims to educate her clients and empower them on their search for personal health and wellness by making suggestions for self care or changes that may be helpful in achieving their goals.
Stacey’s knowledge of the musculoskeltal system informs her bodywork decisions and allows for the accuracy needed to free deep adhesions. She works at an appropriate depth and speed for each location paying close attention to how the tissue is reacting. Her clients are always appreciative of her attention to detail and her ability to focus on their specific needs.
Stacey believes that massage and bodywork are the key to recovery for most situations. Many of her clients have seen major improvements with issues that were not resolved by other healthcare professionals. She believes that when we give ourselves, and our nervous systems, the opportunity to experience the “relaxation response” profound healing occurs on a physical, emotional and cellular level.

area of focus: Feldenkrais Method
The Feldenkrais Method works excellently for people who are:
This method for healing is consistently effective with lasting results because of a three-staged process:
1. New Movement Patterns. Each body has an unique way of moving. Using small, gentle, slow movements, I learn your habitual ways of movement –the ones that are serving you and those that have outstayed their welcome and are causing you discomfort. Using my knowledge of well-organized, efficient motor development and functioning, I will teach you new movement patterns to add to your repertoire.
2. Increased Awareness & the Nervous System. While your comfort increases and your unnecessary effort reduces, you become more available to sense subtle, yet significant sensory distinctions. Through this increased awareness, you connect directly with your nervous system. Your nervous system, eager to conserve energy, quickly integrates the new, efficient, comfortable movement patterns. Your nervous system will then take over the long-term work of choosing effective, pleasurable ways of moving.
3. Knowledge & Tools for Independence. With your increased sensory awareness and newly developed exercises, you will have the knowledge and tools to treat future pain and injuries. You won’t have to fear the occasional aches and pains or an unexpected injury, because you will know effective, easy, quick ways of getting yourself back on the pain-free track.
This unique 3-fold approach is the perfect combination to get you feeling better and empower you to stay healthy and vital. I believe that every person has the ability to learn new and better ways of feeling and being. No matter how dysfunctional, broken, chronically hurt, or stressed people feel, I know that a more pleasant, simple, peaceful walk of life is possible. I am dedicated to helping people find an improved sense of movement and self. This is my calling, and I am very happy to share my work with you.
